The Forge - Enhancing System Guide

Complete guide to enhancing in The Forge Roblox - learn how to upgrade weapons and armor, enhancement levels, stat bonuses, failure risks, and tips.

The Forge - Enhancement altar with glowing sword upgrade

Enhancing is the upgrade system in The Forge that boosts your forged gear's stats and unlocks rune slots. However, failed enhancements can downgrade your item!

How Enhancing Works

Enhancement Process

  1. Forge an Item - Create a weapon or armor piece first
  2. Visit Enhancement NPC - Find the enhancer in town
  3. Select Item - Choose the gear to enhance
  4. Pay Materials - Enhancement costs ores/gold
  5. Roll for Success - Success = upgrade, Fail = possible downgrade
Warning: Failure Risk!

Failed enhancements at +3 and above can downgrade your item by one level. Plan carefully!

Enhancement Levels & Rates

Each level increases stats but decreases success rate:

Level Success Rate Stat Boost Fail Risk Rune Slots
+1 95% +5% None -
+2 90% +10% None -
+3 85% +15% Low +1
+4 75% +20% Low +1
+5 65% +30% Medium +2
+6 50% +40% Medium +2
+7 35% +55% High +3
+8 20% +70% High +3
+9 10% +90% Very High +4
+10 5% +120% Extreme +5

Rune Slot Unlocks

Enhancing is the only way to unlock rune slots on your gear:

1 +3
2 +5
3 +7
4 +9
5 +10

Enhancement Strategy

Safe Stopping Points

  • +3 - Low risk, unlocks first rune slot (casual players)
  • +5 - Good balance of power (+30%) and risk (moderate)
  • +7 - High power (+55%), only for good gear
  • +10 - Maximum power, extreme RNG, only for best items

Pro Tips

✅ Start with forging quality gear

Enhance good base items - junk in = junk out.

✅ Don't rush high levels

Failure can downgrade your item. Take it slow.

✅ Use protection items

Some items prevent downgrade on failure (if available).

✅ Stop at +5 for most builds

+5 gives 30% boost with manageable risk.

✅ Save rare materials

Only push +7 and above on best-in-slot gear.

✅ Add runes after slots unlock

Rune slots appear at +3, +5, +7, +9.
