Want a fresh identity? You can change how you appear on Roblox in two ways: your Username (paid) or your Display Name (free). Here is everything you need to know.

Method 1: Change Display Name (Free)

This is the best option if you just want a new look without spending Robux.

  1. Go to Settings > Account Info.
  2. Find the Display Name section.
  3. Click the Edit Icon (Pencil).
  4. Enter your new name (3-20 characters).
  5. Click Save.

[!TIP] Display names appear in-game and on your profile header. They can include spaces and special characters!

Method 2: Change Username (1,000 Robux)

This changes your actual account handle (e.g., changing from @Noob123 to @ProGamer).

  1. Buy Robux: You need at least 1,000 Robux (~$12.50 USD).
  2. Go to Settings > Account Info.
  3. Find the Username section.
  4. Click the Edit Icon.
  5. Type your desired username.
    • Note: If it’s taken, you must choose another.
  6. Enter your account password to confirm.
  7. Click Buy to complete the change.

Important Notes

  • Old Usernames: Your previous usernames are saved in your “Past Usernames” list on your profile.
  • Group Ownership: Changing names does NOT affect your groups or items.
  • Login: You must use the NEW username to log in.
